The History of Art and Architecture department is strongly committed to excellence in research. We also promote inclusive teaching and curatorial practices in order to foster collaboration, diversity, and expanding our interdisciplinary presence and public outreach. For undergraduates, the department offers a major in the History of Art and Architecture (B.A.) and houses the Museums Studies program which offers a major (B.A.) and minor. We offer a PhD program designed to train new generations of scholars who will lead the way in advancing and disseminating art-historical knowledge, whether in research universities, teaching colleges, museums, and galleries, or other related professions.
